Electronics Test Technician
Work location: San Luis Obispo, CA. FLSA status: Non-Exempt.
About the role
The Electronics Test Technician is an integral part of our production team, responsible for verifying that products meet all functional requirements per the document specification, ensuring rigorous quality standards for all work and components, and completing configuration and calibration of products. The Test Technician supports technical issues with Engineering assistance and aids in training team members on verification, configuration, and calibration. A successful Test Technician has keen attention to detail and supports others in the shop and throughout the company, both technically and as a teammate.
Responsibilities
- Follows shop safety requirements and other relevant policies
- Performs in-process configuration, calibration, and verification on equipment
- Conducts functional and mechanical checkouts as necessary
- Completes production paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Supports Engineering and Test development as needed
- Contributes to the improvement of Test equipment and procedures
- Communicates, discusses, and listens to challenges with management and teammates
- Supports problem-solving activities for technical issues
- Develops and trains other team members
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, procedures, etc.
- Computer (Windows PC) competency in word processing and spreadsheets
- High attention to detail
- Technically minded with problem-solving skills for equipment issues
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment where quality is critical
- Enjoys working with their hands
- Able to work collaboratively on a team
- Ability to follow verbal and written procedures, with strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and listen to others

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $27.00 to $42.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.
Clearance Requirements
This position may require access to information subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). Applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under ITAR and EAR.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The work environment includes a standard office setting with elements of a production area. The role requires:
- Use of standard office equipment, including computers
- Stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions
- Occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending
- Vision necessary for reading printed materials and computer screens
- Hearing and speech essential for effective communication in person and over the telephone
- Potential travel by air or automobile
- Use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
