About the role

Gavial Engineering & Manufacturing specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality, high-reliability parts and systems for mission-critical equipment in demanding industries. The Electronics Test Technician conducts electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical tests on systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure functionality or determine the cause of failure.

Responsibilities

  • Reads test procedures, work orders, manuals, specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedures and equipment.
  • Tests functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
  • Connects units to test equipment including digital multi-meter, hi-pot tester, signal generator, frequency meter, spectrum analyzer, or oscilloscope.
  • Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure, applying electronics theory to troubleshoot down to the component level.
  • Reads dials or digital displays to measure electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, resistance, and capacitance.
  • Compares results with specifications, records test data, or plots test results on graphs.
  • Records minor defects on tags and returns units to production for repair; generates Non-Conformance Reports for major defects.
  • Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others to resolve testing issues and procedures.
  • Devises test equipment setups to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer-returned units.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; college degree in Electronics Theory from a 2-year college or technical school preferred.
  • 1–2 years of equivalent education, training, or experience as an Electronics Test Technician.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Schedule

Full-time, 8-hour shift; Monday to Friday.

Work Environment

Onsite at a manufacturing facility.
