Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform depot-level troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on legacy inertial navigation systems, including AN/WSN-5 INS, along with AN/WSN-2/2A, MK-27, and MK-39 Gyrocompasses.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components in accordance with NAVSEA and DoD technical manuals.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with engineers and customers.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
- Experience: Six (6) years of practical experience to include: Electronics Repair, Maintenance, Installation and Checkout. One (1) year of experience to include: supervision and shop practices. Two (2) years of practical experience to include: electronics repair and installation. Specific Experience Required (PWS §5.4.2(h) no deviations permitted): Three (3) years of hands-on experience working directly with U.S. Navy Navigation Systems (e.g., AN/WSN-5 INS, AN/WSN-7/7A Ring Laser Gyro Navigator, AN/WSN-12 INS-R, or equivalent inertial/gyrocompass systems). Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
About the Role
SOLVERE is seeking Inertial Electronics Technicians III. The Technician performs depot-level troubleshooting and repairs on circuit cards, modules, and assemblies used in U.S. Navy Navigation systems. This person plays a critical role in keeping high-value electronic systems operational by diagnosing and repairing inertial systems such as: AN/WSN-2/2A, MK-27, and MK-39 Gyrocompasses.
