Electronics Technician Maintenance I (ETM I)(Sea-going)
About the role
Lynker Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Electronics Technician Maintenance I (ETM I) (Lab) to support the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) in providing quality meteorological and oceanographic observations in the marine environment to enhance maritime safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, engineering, fabrication, integration, testing, deployment, maintenance, and repair of buoy systems including Weather Buoy Stations, Coastal Observation (C-MAN) stations, Tropical Atmosphere-Ocean Array (TAO) systems, and Deep- Ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunami (DART) stations.
- Perform data analysis, storage, and dissemination of related weather and environmental data from these systems and other sources.
- Support logistics, information technology, and programming aspects of the NDBC network.
- Perform field assignments as a member or team leader for installation, troubleshooting, repair, and de-installation of equipment.
- Load and offload equipment, including containerized or other types, in the field, and prepare shipment load lists.
- Represent NDBC/Lynker in the field with good communication skills.
Requirements
- Two years of experience in maintenance, repair, test, and modification of marine electrical and electronics systems.
- Experience with the loading and offloading of equipment in the field, and preparation of shipment load lists.
Qualifications
- Capable of performing duties at sea within harsh weather environments.
- Knowledge of computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite for test and field-related documentation.
Skills
- Electrical and limited mechanical assembly work.
- Field assignments involving installation, troubleshooting, repair, and de-installation.
