About the role

The Electronics Technician III at Crane Aerospace and Electronics is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic and mechanical products, parts, equipment, and systems. This role is based in Lynnwood, WA and supports the aerospace and defense markets.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings;
  • Create non-conformance reports including detailed descriptions of testing performed, resulting failures, and initial root cause investigation results;
  • Interpret and work according to work orders, drawings, and schematics, functional and acceptance test procedures, failure reports, manuals, and other applicable engineering and production specifications;
  • Calibrate or adjust assigned units by selecting components, adjusting potentiometers, clocking, positioning, shimming, tensioning, or coil adjustments, bearing and gear adjustments, as needed;
  • Make required mathematical calculations for voltage, resistance, current, impedance, amplification, flow rate, and mass, mechanical dimensions, and adjustments;
  • Perform automated testing and performance testing using a variety of automated testing equipment and special test consoles to simulate in-service specifications, including but not limited to: vibration, burn-in, thermal cycling, flying probe, ICT;
  • Test units in other programs not normally worked on and units of greater complexity under limited supervision;
  • Supports Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise;
  • Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment;
  • Supports customer visits;
  • Performs internal and external audits;
  • Performs minimal work under a microscope or soldering;
  • Works with design & test engineering when there is a production problem;
  • Troubleshoots production failures down to the component level;
  • Cross-trains less experienced technicians and takes a leadership role in the value stream;
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a related field, or equivalent educational experience;
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of methods and procedures in troubleshooting, circuitry, or mechanical characteristics as related to area of assignment and ability to devise and adapt;
  • Skills: Good oral and written communication skills, manual and finger dexterity, ability to make precise coordinated movements;
  • Education/Certification: AA degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology, or equivalent knowledge through experience or other recognized educational institution;
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered.

Pay

$41.37 to 52.97 per hour. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
