About the role

BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the Controls & Avionics Solutions business area at our Fort Wayne, IN site. This is a full-time, on-site position specializing in the commercial manufacturing of circuit cards and engine controls, with expansion into U.S. defense products.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install complex electronic and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Use precision measuring and analytical test equipment to calibrate electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Interpret and apply requirements from blueprints, manuals, schematics, layouts, and verbal instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, both electronic and manual.
  • Ensure calibration and equipment compliance.
  • Provide instructions and training on newly constructed or diagnosed equipment.
  • Handle proper material movement and storage.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in Electronics or at least three years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electronics.
  • At least one year of experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • At least one year of experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits to root cause.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply written work instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye/hand/finger coordination for handling small components.
  • Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer-based data entry.

Pay

This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), with a starting wage of $38.50 per hour.

Schedule

  • Full-time, on-site role.
  • Must be available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
