Electronics Technician - FO, GS 7/9

About the role

This position is open to U.S. citizens who are eligible for a Top Secret/SCI clearance. It requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. The position is located in various field offices across the country and offers a competitive salary range from GS-7 ($43,106.00 - $56,039.00) to GS-9 ($52,727.00 - $68,549.00).

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and operational testing of communication and intrusion systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on FM radio systems, data networks, and electronic physical security systems.
• Inspect equipment for adherence to standards and tolerances.
• Use test equipment and advanced techniques to perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
• Review technical manuals and remain current with technological advancements.
• Handle, store, and inventory a variety of electronic equipment and components.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Some travel may be required. Physical demands include strenuous physical exertion and lifting heavy objects.

Qualifications and Evaluations

To be considered, applicants must meet the minimum qualifications as outlined in the announcement. The first five competencies will be used in a Structured Resume Review to evaluate past work experience.

Skills

Knowledge of data networks, radio frequency theory, and electronic troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance. Knowledge of electronic theory, algebra, and elementary physics.

Benefits

Employees may be eligible for a recruitment incentive of up to 20% or a relocation incentive of up to 15%, depending on eligibility. Employees must sign a written service agreement completing a specified period of employment with the FBI at the new duty station.

Pay

The salary range for this position is from GS-7 ($43,106.00 - $56,039.00) to GS-9 ($52,727.00 - $68,549.00). The base rate of pay is provided, with locality pay adjustments available.

Schedule

Working hours may vary based on the needs of the Division. The position is full-time and permanent.
