Netarus is seeking an Electronics Technician in our Norfolk, Virginia office to perform diagnosis, repair, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of specialized electronic, electrical, wireless, and camera equipment and related systems. This position is only available to individuals located in the Norfolk, Virginia area and is not remote.
Responsibilities
- Operate, troubleshoot, perform, and oversee maintenance of wired and wireless camera systems deployed to rugged environments as applied to various Netarus hardware solutions.
- Perform and oversee maintenance of electronic and LAN-based control equipment in conjunction with engineering staff.
- Perform and oversee maintenance of CCTV cameras and display equipment, internal communication systems, internal networks, and programmable/embedded systems.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- Oversee the work of others and plan, coordinate, and prioritize multiple assignments and competing priorities.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on various analog and digital communications systems (e.g., wireless antennas, attenuation calculations).
- Troubleshoot various wireless networks, including IP and video transmission.
- Manage inventory for stocking and tracking, including entering and maintaining work orders in the inventory management system.
- Perform physical labor tasks as required.
Requirements
- Experience in the electronics field, including troubleshooting, circuit analysis, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.
- Experience in maintenance and operations of web and embedded interface devices.
- Experience applying federal and state regulations and standards related to electronics, electrical equipment, and traffic control equipment maintenance and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply various levels of electronic theory, including testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting at four levels: system, unit, board, and component.
- Substantial experience in electronic board and component-level repairs.
- Experience with inventory management for stocking and tracking inventory.
- Valid driver’s license.
