Position Summary

This position is entrusted with a high level of responsibilities at various Area 4 locations surrounding Chippewa Falls. This position will perform a variety of tasks at an advanced level, skilled and semi-skilled in nature including occasional tasks at the tradesman level.

This position is responsible for the inspection, diagnostics, maintenance, calibration, installation, adjustment, modification, replacement, repair, and related services of select agency electronic systems, equipment, controls, and associated devices, as required. To include DOC, CO2 safety systems along with fire alarm systems and PA systems. This position will also provide modifications to, and expansion of present electronic systems including wiring schematic plans for controls.

This position will occasionally provide direction, training, instruction, and coordinate the work of other Facility Maintenance personnel regarding maintenance and repair work assignments, and/ or projects, and may be required to function as a lead worker as well. Successful execution of the tasks involved with this position may require the performance of duties under adverse conditions. Possession of the knowledge and ability to safely operate hand and power tools and equipment including lifts, material handling, and various other pieces of equipment is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with maintaining, repairing, and calibrating facility fire detection and notification systems.
  • Experience with maintaining, diagnosing and repairing typical facility electronic systems, controls and associated devices (e.g. security systems, secure door controls, building system controls, etc.).
  • Experience with developing a preventative maintenance schedule for the regular inspection and servicing of facility electronic systems.
  • Preferred qualifications include diagnosing, programming and maintaining computer-controlled fire detection and notification systems.
  • Preferred qualifications include training and instructing other staff in the operation, monitoring, adjustment and maintaining of facility electronic systems and associated equipment.
  • Preferred qualifications include consulting with engineers, architects and contractors regarding plans which incorporate the use of existing and proposed electronic systems.

Pay

Starting pay is between $32.00 and $34.00/hr. This position is in the 06-63 pay schedule/range. A 12-month probation will be required.
