About the Role
M.C. Dean is seeking an Electronics Technician 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will design, engineer, integrate, operate, and maintain electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
- Executes various technical tasks and responsibilities within field operations, including on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems.
- Conducts site surveys, configures hardware and software, tests systems for proper operation, and provides technical support to customers.
- Utilizes and comprehends project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW), enforcing M.C. Dean handbook and policies.
- Participates in quality reviews of M.C. Dean design documentation, analyzing and interpreting drawing packages to evaluate constructability.
- Tracks project metrics and participates in weekly resource allocation meetings.
- Verifies correct charges in timesheets on projects and executes installation and maintenance activities within planned durations, ensuring completion of detailed documentation.
- Tracks and inventories tools, conducts tool inspections, and organizes material ordering and receiving.
- Conducts daily Operational Risk Management (ORM) meetings, ensures team compliance with safety requirements, and completes accident/incident reporting.
- Participates in PITCO plan creation and build-out, executing the PITCO plan to ensure high-quality testing and installation.
- Installs system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, and panels, adhering to industry standards.
- Terminates, tests, and configures electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.
- Manages base switch configurations, participates in configuration of servers and workstations, and troubleshoots programmable components.
- Ensures compliance with established Quality Control (QC) plans and checklists, conducting quality control inspections and documenting findings.
- Installs and maintains field devices, terminates and tests system components, and troubleshoots copper and fiber optic issues.
- Leads commissioning efforts, tracks commissioning activities, and assists in representing M.C. Dean in meetings with owners and design teams.
- Communicates consistently with M.C. Dean Project Teams, other trades, and customers, demonstrating dedication and collaboration.
- Leads by example, provides constructive feedback, mentors crew members, and encourages strategic thinking and innovation.
- Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills, aligning with M.C. Dean's vision, mission, and values.
- Provides look-ahead for assignment of manpower, material procurement/staging, and resource planning.

Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; no clearance needed.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One of the following:
- Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours).
- Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program.
- Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program.
- An additional three (3) years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills (preferred).
- Valid driver's license. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems).
- Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems certifications, and experience in installation of said systems.
- 3 years of experience focused on electronic security systems.
- OSHA 30 certification.
Abilities
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Demonstrates physical strength and stamina to perform tasks such as loading/unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of materials while following proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
- Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet, including climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possesses good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
- Applies general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
- Combines pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
- Sees details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Listens to and understands information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

USD $32.00 - USD $46.00 per hour.
