As part of the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) Strategic Business Unit, you will join a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services—including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems—for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Responsibilities

  • Executes various technical tasks and responsibilities within field operations, including on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems.
  • Ensures the functionality and reliability of various technologies by conducting site surveys, configuring hardware and software, testing systems for proper operation, and providing technical support to customers.
  • Utilizes and comprehends project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW), enforcing adherence to M.C. Dean handbook and policies.
  • Analyzes and interprets complete M.C. Dean drawing packages to assess constructability, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Verifies correct charges in timesheets on projects, executing installation and maintenance activities within planned durations.
  • Tracks and inventories tools, conducting consistent tool inspections and performing tool inventory at the end of each day for assigned tools and equipment.
  • Participates in 10-minute daily ORM meetings, ensuring team compliance with safety requirements.
  • Participates in PITCO plan creation and build-out, executing the PITCO plan to include testing to verify high quality.
  • Installs system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and all mounting hardware components, ensuring proper grounding and adherence to NEC standards.
  • Terminates, tests, and configures electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.
  • Racks and stacks head-end equipment, terminates, and performs cable terminations and accessories associated with industry standards.
  • Communicates consistently with M.C. Dean Project Teams, exhibiting dedication, punctuality, and preparedness for work.
  • Acts as a collaborative teammate, providing and absorbing constructive feedback with both internal and external customers in a positive manner.
  • Plans and prioritizes tasks effectively, understanding and embodying the M.C. Dean vision, mission, and values.
  • Surveys and documents existing field conditions, providing feedback and recommendations to the project team.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (no clearance needed).
  • Valid driver’s license; this position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle, and selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems (e.g., CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems, Airphone, FFT, DIVAR).
  • Windows operating systems certifications and experience in installation of said systems.
  • Graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or Electrical Apprenticeship program.
  • 3 years of the above experience focused specifically in electronic security systems.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

Skills

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, following proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
  • Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Ability to work at various heights up to 60 feet, including climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Good vision (may be corrected), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Ability to recognize when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce logical answers.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
  • Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
