Electronics Lab Technician

We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Technician to support engineering and testing activities.

Responsibilities

• Solder and replace small electronic components, including surface-mount devices (0805, 0402, and similar packages).
• Perform hot air rework and reflow repairs, including IC replacement.
• Assist engineers in diagnosing and root-causing failed electrical components and assemblies.
• Operate bench lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, load boxes, and flash/programming tools.
• Design, build, and repair wire harnesses as required.
• Build and maintain test boxes, breakout boards, and other test fixtures.
• Assemble and disassemble electronic controllers using common hand tools.
• Manage multiple controllers and projects simultaneously while maintaining accurate status documentation.
• Follow established quality, safety, and testing procedures.

Requirements

• Intermediate-level experience in electronics and troubleshooting.
• Experience with soldering, hot air reflow, and IC replacement.
• Proficiency in operating bench lab equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, load boxes, flash tools).
• Ability to build and repair wire harnesses, test boxes, and breakout boards.
• Experience with schematic markup, printed circuit board (PCB) checkout, and visual inspections (preferred).

Pay

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Schedule

This is a contract, fully onsite position based in Warren, MI.
