Electronics FPGA Design Engineer
About the role
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic and sensor systems for mission-critical aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have strong VHDL programming skills and experience designing, testing, and integrating FPGA-based solutions throughout the full product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, test, and integrate FPGA and VHDL-based solutions.
- Develop technical documentation and design deliverables.
- Support code reviews, system integration, and hardware validation efforts.
- Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.
- Integrate sensors, cameras, GPS, and data acquisition/storage systems.
- Troubleshoot and test electronic systems to ensure performance and reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of FPGA design and development experience.
- Strong VHDL programming skills.
- Experience with SPICE/PSpice or similar simulation tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with sensor integration, embedded systems, or data acquisition platforms.
- Background in aerospace, defense, robotics, or other advanced technology environments.
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and testing experience.
- Familiarity with mission-critical or high-reliability electronic systems.

Pay
The salary for this position is $100,000-$140,000, depending on experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time position, located in Hampton, VA, and requires onsite work.
