Electronics Engineer - Senior Level

Responsibilities
- Utilize fundamental engineering knowledge and practices to design and develop electronic systems.
- Perform complex engineering analysis and problem-solving.
- Create and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
- Lead the design and specification of mechatronic and embedded systems, including component selection, system architecture, and control methods.
- Communicate mechanical requirements of systems to design staff.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using electronics-related tools such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, power supplies, and hand tools.
- Lead electronics projects, developing and executing work plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Develop new processes and engineering tools.
- Support business development activities, including proposal creation, cost and resource estimates, project timing, and technical writing.
- Design, specify, and partition complex wire harness assemblies.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to colleagues and other departments.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and principles.
- Experience in complex engineering analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability to create and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
- Leadership in designing and specifying mechatronic and embedded systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems using electronics-related tools.
- Experience leading electronics projects, including developing and executing work plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Knowledge of developing new processes and engineering tools.
- Experience supporting business development activities, including proposal creation, cost and resource estimates, project timing, and technical writing.
- Experience designing, specifying, and partitioning complex wire harness assemblies.
- Ability to provide guidance and technical expertise to colleagues and other departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronic Systems.
- Minimum of 6+ years of engineering experience.
- Desired specialized skills and knowledge include high voltage system design experience, electrical and hybrid vehicle systems experience, autonomous and by-wire systems experience, MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow experience, Vector CAN tools experience, dSpace tools, communication protocols like CAN, LIN, SPI, wireless 802.11, Ethernet, etc., CAD tools, Mentor Graphics Vesys or Capital experience, high voltage component experience (motors, inverters, chargers, etc.), system reverse engineering experience, data acquisition experience, printed circuit board design experience, project leadership and program management experience, and extensive knowledge of automotive, defense, or motorsports industry requirements, standards, and trends.

- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Ability to interact with current and potential customers regarding Pratt Miller systems.
- Experience in planning and managing internal and customer projects.
- Ability to provide feedback on product needs and processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $91,500.00 - $148,100.00, with individual pay determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education, and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
