Electronics Engineer.

Embark on a trailblazing career at the forefront of national security as an advanced-level Electronics Engineer with the United States Space Force's System Delta 85 (SYD 85) Battle Awareness team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this critical, highly autonomous role, you will serve as the organization's foremost technical specialist within the Ground Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) program to recapitalize missile warning and space surveillance sensors into a resilient, unified digital architecture. You will utilize cutting-edge signal processing, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and artificial intelligence to manage complex ground sustainment projects, resolve unprecedented design challenges, and translate weapon system requirements into robust design criteria. This role directly influences senior leadership decisions, mentors junior engineers, and delivers decisive modular capabilities to maintain the nation's warfighting edge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and sustain complex ground-based space systems within contested warfighting domains as a technical authority.
• Translate weapon system requirements into robust design criteria and troubleshoot integrated ground systems.
• Resolve unprecedented technical challenges where precedents do not exist, applying federal acquisition regulations and DoD policies.
• Mentor junior engineers, draft technically precise documentation, and deliver authoritative briefings to senior agency officials and external contractors.
• Steer program progress and executive-level decisions through clear, concise, and technically accurate communication.
• Apply advanced electronics engineering, systems engineering, and developmental test and evaluation principles.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
• Subject to random drug testing as a condition of employment.
• Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations.
• May work extended duty hours, including evenings/weekends, and be subject to recall during base exercises, contingencies, or emergencies.
• Professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Must file an OGE-450, “Confidential Disclosure Report,” within 30 days of assuming the position and annually thereafter.
• Eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM-prescribed “Unscheduled Telework.”
• Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) of approximately 20 days per year.
• Serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period, depending on the position type.
• No Permanent Change of Station (PCS) or incentive authorized.

• Proficiency in using computers, software programs, and databases to gather, analyze, and communicate program information.
