About the role

The Electronics Engineer will serve as a professional engineer with systems engineering responsibility in assigned areas. They will provide technical leadership in defining total weapons systems/subsystem requirements, translating these into design criteria, evaluating alternative design approaches, and developing system specifications. The role involves guiding and evaluating the design and development activities of others through several phases of the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Technical expert for the organization in engineering assignments concerning data analytics, engineering analysis, and decision support for test and evaluation.
  • Project Leadership: Lead a team of engineers and technicians throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Cost & Schedule Management: Perform cost and schedule estimates and ensure projects meet budget and time constraints.
  • Technical Documentation: Write comprehensive technical documents detailing the design and operation of systems for other engineers, pilots, and technicians.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Brief aircraft modifications and proposals to the customer and Configuration Control Board for approval.
  • Integration & Testing: Direct the fabrication and installation of designs, perform operational checks of systems on aircraft, ensuring accessibility, maintainability, and adherence to airworthiness and safety standards.
  • Operational Support: Support modifications as they fly missions on various aircraft, ensuring instrumentation systems deliver the required data to the customer.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Secret Security Clearance Required
  • 3-5 Years' Experience Requested
  • Professional Engineering Degree Preferred (Bachelor’s Level)
  • Advanced Degrees Preferred

Qualifications

  • Experience in aircraft instrumentation design, modification, and installation, specifically with F-15/F-16 aircraft is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for developing and processing instrumentation design requirements.
  • Understanding of airworthiness and safety regulations for military air vehicles.
  • Ability to brief technical information to diverse audiences, including high-ranking officials.
