About the role
HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our Warfare Systems group in Syracuse, NY. The selected candidate will contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced electronic systems that support national security missions. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electronic circuits, subsystems, and components for defense applications, including communications, radar, sensing, and embedded systems.
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout review, component selection, and system-level integration.
- Conduct simulations, modeling, and analysis to validate performance, reliability, and compliance with military standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—systems engineering, software, mechanical, and manufacturing—to ensure seamless integration of electronic hardware.
- Support prototype development, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis during testing and field evaluations.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and compliance reports.
- Ensure all designs meet rigorous security, safety, and environmental requirements (e.g., MIL-STD, EMI/EMC, environmental hardening).
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and signal processing.
- Experience with tools such as Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, OrCAD, or similar.
- Familiarity with military standards, ruggedized electronics, or secure system design.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Bonus Points for
- Experience in RF systems, high-speed digital design, or power electronics.
- Background in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of embedded firmware or FPGA development.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles as applied to hardware systems.
- Active Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
Pay
Anticipated Salary Range: $95,263.00 - $135,000.00
