Travel is required up to 25% of the time, with occasional surge periods up to 40%.

About the role

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Electronic Technician (Level 2 or 3) to join our team in Palmdale, CA. The candidate will work within a technical team responsible for building, integrating, testing, and maintaining communications hardware in laboratory and field settings. This role involves supporting engineers on a variety of technical tasks, working in an Integrated Product Team construct, and handling systems ranging from single racks to 10+ racks of equipment. This is a full-time, on-site position with no remote or hybrid options available.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems using engineering drawings, configuration, and recovery documentation.
  • Support startup and shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, and post-delivery support.
  • Support the build and installation of custom cables, wire harness assemblies, and tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams.
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas and conduct preliminary analyses of data.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Electronic Technician 2: 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Electronic Technician 3: 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
  • Working experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Working experience with industry standards for connectors (e.g., D38999, D-sub, twinax, RJ45).
  • Must be physically able to move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have color vision to identify cables and wires.
  • Active US Government Top-Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government SCI clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude to learn new material quickly.
  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with an investigation date within the last 5 years.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00

The above salary ranges represent general guidelines. Base salary offers consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
