Electronic Technician
About the role
The Electronics Technician will perform a variety of tasks. They will be trained primarily to support operations and maintenance of EDM equipment. They will also be cross-trained for other job assignments to include supporting generalized I&C field work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform I&C tasks to include installing, calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation, control circuits, PLC's, sensors and automated process control systems.
- Operate, set up and program ZAP EDM sinker machines for precision manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing operations.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain equipment logs.
- Perform instrumentation testing using digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and customer supplier equipment/simulators.
- Interpret drawings and implement test procedures.
- Operate electronic and electrical test equipment.
- Read and follow drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assemble/testing electronics units, applying knowledge of basic electronic theory and components.
- Learn, understand, and practice the appropriate quality, health, and safety procedures applicable to each work assignment.
Qualifications
- Strong military background with experience in electronics work is preferred (Electronics Technicians, Avionics Specialists or similar).
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision equipment.
- Familiarity with ZAP EDM or similar sinker/wire EDM is a major plus.
- A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent job experience is required.
- 2+ years of similar work experience in field cable installation is preferred.
