About the role
The mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric services are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide lower-level technicians on a project basis.
- Read and interpret the most complex electric and electronic schematics and mechanical layouts during diagnosis and repair of complex electronic equipment.
- Read and interpret electric and electronic schematics and mechanical layouts during the installation and maintenance of the CCTV viewing platform and verify proper operation.
- Recommend and conduct system and platform expansion by the installation of updates and programs, addition of components, and all associated peripheral items such as new cable, cable terminations, and electrical conduit as necessary.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, repair, or obtain cost estimates for installation and/or repair of all CCTV equipment.
- Cook up through Behavioral Hospital Associate Administrator 3 with the Office of Telecommunication Services as the primary liaison for computer and network services, the CCTV Safety Surveillance System, and all related activities.
Requirements
- Three years of experience or training in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR
- Three years of experience or training in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software); OR
- Possession of a CompTIA A+ Certification plus one of the following:
- Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment, precision machinery, or electronic/electrical systems; OR
- Two years of experience in the installation, repair, or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software).
Necessary Special Requirements
- Must possess an appropriate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) radio-telephone license when working with marine and aviation transmitting equipment or with radar.
