Electronic Technician A Maintenance
About the Role
Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Electronic Technician A at our Tupelo/Verona, MS manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for maintaining all building machinery, including troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and installing electrical and electro-mechanical devices and components. The successful candidate will collaborate daily with multiple levels of company personnel, including managers, supervisors, and manufacturing plant employees, to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.
An Electronic Technician A works in a normal maintenance and manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical control and power distribution circuits.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and diagrams.
- Assemble and disassemble equipment.
- Read and interpret basic machine diagrams and plant layout drawings.
- Perform preventative maintenance on assigned machinery and/or equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the building and facility.
- Recognize potential mechanical problems, plan a solution for repair, and implement the plan.
- Assist with the calibration of all in-plant electrical equipment.
- Maintain plant lighting systems, inside and outside of the building.
- Run conduit and/or install new electrical circuits.
- Assist in training Electronic Technician Bs.
- Operate forklifts, clamp lifts, genie boom, scissor lifts, and other machinery as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 2+ years of specialty or technical training.
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience and 2+ years working in an industrial environment with extensive knowledge of computer-interfacing (advanced electronic training preferred).
- Ability to complete a mechanical and/or electrical project from start to finish.
- Ability to operate a variety of electrical maintenance tools.
- Must possess a variety of personally owned industrial/electrical hand tools.
- Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice.
