This is an onsite position requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance. An active and existing clearance is required from day one.
About the Role
Join Collins Aerospace Mission Systems, a leader in intelligent aerospace and defense solutions. This role is for 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) and is not eligible for relocation.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical tests and troubleshooting on subassemblies, assemblies, and systems to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Read, understand, and accurately follow prints, schematics, sketches, test procedures, and verbal or written instructions.
- Operate environmental test chambers to assure workmanship and product performance.
- Develop test data to resolve performance problems with the product under test.
- Perform soldering and/or mechanical assembly as required for testing incomplete circuits.
- Prepare test reports and document failures, including the phase of the test and required alterations to eliminate defects.
- Use direct reading instruments, gauges, meters, and specialized testing devices to determine acceptability and locate discrepancies on various types of subassemblies.
- Collect and maintain data/records using written or electronic media as required.
- Handle, store, use, and dispose of hazardous waste chemicals (e.g., acids, caustics, flammables) in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental protection laws.
- Complete annual retraining to comply with applicable regulations (40 CFR §265.16).
- Successfully complete pre-qualification tests or exams, which may require periodic re-validation.
- Perform duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
- At least one of the following qualifications:
- Electronic Technology Certificate from an accredited institution.
- AA/AS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Hardware Engineering, or a related field.
- Military electronics technical school certification.
- 4 years of documented professional or military experience in troubleshooting electronic equipment within the last 12 years.
- 4 years of experience as an “Electronic Tester” (Job Code: EH0367).
