Electronic Systems Security Technician

Responsibilities

  • Perform work on Access Controls, including card readers, electronic or wireless locks, and card, biometric, and fingerprint devices, among others
  • Perform work on Intrusion Systems and Prevention Systems, to include perimeter controls
  • Perform work on Video Management Systems, to include Bosch, Milestone, Axis
  • Erects safety signage in appropriate areas
  • Uses ladders to safely access ceiling crawl spaces and attics, pulling wires, hooking up routes, etc.
  • Cleans up installation debris and maintains an orderly workspace
  • Analyzes blueprints and building plans to confirm proper placement of wiring, conduit, and intended overall connection plan on a room-by-room and floor-by-floor basis
  • Performs system testing and signal verification
  • Affords assistance with teammate troubleshooting needs virtually or by phone, as needed
  • Affords assessment of tools, inventory, and material needs for replacement and order, as needed
  • Maintains deadlines and works in a fast-paced environment with minimum direction
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism, in appearance and communication with the public and federal/local community members
  • Maintains, enters, and processes expenses in Company system by established deadlines
  • Drives company vehicles
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements

  • 18+ years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience in security systems installation
  • Experience with access control systems and intrusion detection systems
  • Working knowledge of ESS platform experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and building plans
  • Ability to travel up to 35% within the contiguous United States, as needed
  • Ability to be available to travel with short notice for emergency response, as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
  • To obtain a Public Trust security clearance
  • To possess and maintain an active and valid Florida driver's license without restrictions
  • To be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration

Qualifications

  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • To comply with company drug and alcohol policy
  • To be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date
