About the Role
Our client is seeking an Electronic Security Systems Technician for an exciting long-term contract opportunity. In this role, you’ll be the go-to expert for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of low voltage systems. You’ll work directly with customers, support critical systems, and play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low voltage systems, including:
- Intrusion alarm systems
- Access control systems
- CCTV and video surveillance
- Voice and data cabling
- Diagnose system issues and implement effective, timely solutions
- Perform system testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Program and configure systems as needed
- Document service work clearly and accurately (reports, updates, system changes)
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
- Provide on-site customer support and basic system training
- Ensure all work meets safety standards, company expectations, and applicable codes
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in low voltage service or a similar role
- Solid working knowledge of:
- Intrusion detection and alarm systems
- Access control systems
- CCTV/video surveillance
- Structured cabling (voice & data)
- Strong troubleshooting skills — you know how to find the problem and fix it
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
- Confidence working in commercial, government, or high-security environments (preferred)
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
- Strong organizational and documentation habits
