About the Role

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Banking Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on banking equipment including alarm systems, CCTV's, pneumatic drive-ups, ATMs, vaults, safe deposit boxes, and more. You must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. As a Banking Service Technician, you are part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in at least one of the following areas: locksmithing, drive-up systems, or electronics.
  • Install equipment and service/support existing customers by responding to service calls.
  • Install, repair, rebuild, and service remote drive-up systems, audio, and video equipment (Drive-Up Specialists).
  • Handle a variety of locking mechanisms, from basic drawer locks to complex devices like vaults and secure keyways (Locksmiths).
  • Provide support for electrical and electronics projects (Electronics Specialists).
  • Install, program, test, repair, and service non-routine systems and equipment for drive-up, locksmith, and electronic projects.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components of remote, audio, and video equipment.
  • Install, configure, and support network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as needed and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Handle moderately complex installations, including alert systems, with final connections, testing, and training.
  • Respond to customer service calls, scheduled maintenance, and emergency/after-hours service calls.
  • Identify potential project challenges and assist in developing strategies to minimize deviations from estimated costs and deadlines.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications and compliance with manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Estimate cost, time, and materials for replacement equipment.
  • Maintain, adjust, calibrate, and service equipment used in the performance of duties.
  • Execute all work in accordance with state/local regulations, best practices, and company health/safety policies.
  • Use strong troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software systems.
  • Act as "our customer’s best service provider" to ensure Convergint remains the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members to improve overall operations.
  • Advise management on customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for improvements.
  • Stay informed on all company policies and present a professional image at all times.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of drive-up, locking, and electronic systems specific to the banking industry.
  • Basic knowledge of Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and Network Video Recorders (NVRs) connected to remote systems.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Customer focus with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability to respond effectively to changes in situation or information.

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience (but not required):

  • Technical diploma and/or equivalent trade experience (e.g., Electrician).
  • 1 year of previous banking specialist experience within a commercial, industrial, or facilities operation setting.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
