Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical equipment such as radios, sirens, light bars, and radar.
- Design, fabricate, and install equipment for vehicles.
- Service county vehicles as needed and perform preventative maintenance.
- Maintain records of work performed on equipment and vehicles; prepare reports for the department.
- Install new and used parts and accessories.
- Coordinate equipment orders with department liaisons to ensure timely project completion.
- Order parts and supplies as needed for projects.
- Assist other employees with their duties.
- Strip retired county vehicles of all equipment and decals.
- Participate in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster as directed by county managers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of technical school and/or specialized training in electronics is preferred.
- Two years of job-related experience.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnosis and repair.
Pay
Starting salary range: $20.50 - $25.63 hourly, based on qualifications.
