About the role
The Electronic Engineer I performs engineering work designing, developing, testing, manufacturing, and documenting power supplies and constituent subsystems. This individual uses development techniques to analyze and validate engineering concepts. The Electronic Engineer I takes direction from lead engineers for program specific work and interacts with senior level professionals both internal and external to Advanced Energy.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the testing, development, and optimization of prototype power supply subsystems including measurement sensors, AC/DC circuits, RF subsystems, logic circuits, etc.
- Test products and subsystems using common test equipment such as vector network analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, LCR meters, signal generators, dynamic loads, etc.
- Utilize basic programming or scripting skills such as Python or MATLAB to interface with equipment and automate data collection / analysis.
- Analyze field and manufacturing data using statistical methods to monitor manufacturing performance.
- Diagnose issues of diverse scope with design, field performance, root cause/failure analysis, manufacturing test yields of existing RF products using formal investigation methods and to recommend/implement corrective actions to address.
- Initiate and manage through to completion engineering changes using the ECO process.
- Identify the engineering scope of work and plan/implement engineering related activities using project management tools.
- Support the design and analysis of existing systems, products, and subsystems/circuits to specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
- Collaborate with engineering management to respond to changing priorities derived from inputs from Product Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Support, Supply Chain, Quality, Technical Service Organization, and Field Application Engineering.
Qualifications
- Usage of professional concepts relevant to engineering, including analytical methods, computer aided analysis and design tools, diagnostic instruments and test equipment, lab skills relevant to design, selecting appropriate components and materials for designs.
- Broad technical knowledge of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry including but not limited to DC circuits, AC to DC converters, RF subsystems and devices, digital and analog loop stability, magnetic design, Monte Carlo circuitry analysis,
