Electronic Design Engineer

Our client designs and manufactures specialized testing equipment used to simulate weathering, UV exposure, and corrosion conditions across a variety of industries. Headquartered near Avon, Ohio, the company manufactures all products locally and has built a strong reputation for engineering excellence, quality, and innovation. About the role

This is a highly hands-on engineering position focused on electrical subsystem design, PCB development, custom circuit design, prototyping, and product development from initial concept through production release.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical subsystems for new and existing products
• Develop analog and digital circuit designs
• Design and test PCBs
• Create custom circuit designs to support product development initiatives
• Build, test, and evaluate prototypes
• Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations
• Support thermal design considerations during product development
• Conduct risk assessments and engineering evaluations
• Generate and manage ECNs
• Partner with production, purchasing, sales, and marketing teams to support product performance and customer requirements
• Support projects throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept through production release

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience; 8+ years preferred
• Experience with analog and digital circuit design
• Strong PCB design and prototyping experience
• Background in custom circuit design
• Experience performing failure analysis and troubleshooting
• Thermal design experience
• Hands-on product development and manufacturing experience
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving and root cause analysis mindset

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with three-phase power systems up to 400V
• Experience with lamp ballasts, UV lamps, or Xenon arc lamp technology
