Electron Microscope Technician

Stefanini Group is hiring an Electron Microscope Technician for a client in Hillsboro, OR. This is a 100% onsite role located at 8531 NE Cornell Rd, Suite B300, Hillsboro, OR 97124.

About the role

The successful candidate will support R&D projects by executing SEM imaging and sample prep requests, working independently in a fast-paced environment. The position requires occasional weekend work and operates on a 2nd shift schedule (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), with a total of 42.50 regular hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform electron microscopy characterization, primarily during 2nd shift and occasionally on weekends.
• Execute SEM imaging and sample preparation requests to support R&D projects.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with the team to ensure maximum throughput.
• Operate Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) equipment (2+ years of experience required).
• Operate Focused Ion Beam (FIB) equipment (preferred).
• Apply basic microscope troubleshooting skills.
• Communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in electron microscopy, preferably in a QC/R&D environment (or less experience with trainability).
• 2+ years of hands-on SEM operation experience (required).
• Experience with Focused Ion Beam (FIB) operation (preferred).
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) with occasional weekend commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred; high school diploma considered with relevant work experience.
• Basic knowledge of semiconductors (preferred).
• Familiarity with general characterization techniques.

Pay

$28 - $32 USD per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

• 42.50 regular hours per week.
• 2nd shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
• Occasional weekend work required.
