About the role

This role is responsible for the overall preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. The schedule is 7:30pm to 6am, with flexibility for overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures
  • Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and ensure proper operation
  • Install equipment and/or electrical components and test for proper functioning
  • Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
  • Perform Mig/Stick welding, torch cutting, and light machining as required
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change, and clean parts/equipment
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Work occasionally with a mobile mechanic as needed
  • Perform other duties related to the nature of the job as assigned

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance or related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience and training
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, operations manuals, and follow step-by-step procedures
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, and carpentry
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and their functions
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work with a team or independently
  • Full understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures
  • Commitment to working safely and efficiently to maintain plant support
  • Ability to lift tools, machinery parts, and other objects up to 80 lbs (assistance available for heavier objects)
  • Ability to endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in manufacturing conditions such as hot/cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt

Pay

The hourly rate is $30.
