Summary

Responsibilities

  • Performs facility Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) work on all manufacturing equipment.
  • Installs, programs, troubleshoots, and repairs PLC’s.
  • Maintains all plant electrical systems, equipment electronics, motors, drives, and other power transmission systems.
  • Performs any and all mechanical and electrical tasks as assigned.
  • Analyzes current machinery for PLC automation implementation.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs motor drives.
  • Maintains a running log on barrel and screw inventory, changes, history, and throughput.
  • Performs manufacturing plant electrical and electronic diagnostics repair and installation.
  • Determines when scope of job is beyond existing skill set or requires additional support.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or equivalent training (e.g., Fundamentals of PLC's, Programming Controllers, Troubleshooting and Repair of PLC's).
  • Three (3) plus years of practical electronics experience.

Qualifications

  • Regularly stands, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaches with hands and arms.
  • Frequently walks, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls, and talks or hears.
  • Sometimes lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus required.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, vibration, high, precarious places, and noise levels in the work environment.

Ability to write advanced A/B PLC logic program, troubleshoot and repair PLC circuits, design and assemble control circuits and cabinets with user interface, analyze current machinery for PLC automation implementation, troubleshoot/program/specify motor drives, maintain/service plant switchgear, perform manufacturing plant electrical and electronic diagnostics repair and installation, determine when scope of job is beyond existing skill set or requires additional support, perform additional duties as assigned.
