Job Responsibilities
- Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedures, inspection, and maintenance of equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
- Programs, troubleshoots, and maintains PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and other forms of industrial automation.
- Provides technical support to other departments regarding process and/or equipment changes.
- Installs wiring circuits, switches, controls, and other electronic devices in accordance with specifications.
- Diagnostics mechanical and electrical problems and makes necessary repairs in a timely fashion to reduce downtime.
- Identifies areas where operations can be improved and made more efficient. Carries out solutions to repair or upgrade equipment for improved operations.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
- Performs lock out/tag out procedures, utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and adheres to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines.
- Carries out other duties as assigned.
Job Skills
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of electromechanical codes, standards, and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
- Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, wiring, and hydraulic systems.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
- Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
- May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
