Job Responsibilities
- Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment
- Follow electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment
- Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
- Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment
- Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment
- Replace damaged or broken wires and cables
- Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance staff
- Aid with plan and layout of wiring with engineering department
- Program, calibrate, and configure Digital Temperature Controllers
- Troubleshoot and repair SCR power controllers
- Document daily work accountabilities and parts usage
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
Requirements
- Associates Degree (AS) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing
- 2+ years demonstrated technical experience
- Journeyman Electrician License
- Ability to trouble shoot faulty electronic components and systems
- Ability to work independently
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical safety
- Available for rotation of call-in coverage schedule
- Industrial electrical/controls/mechanical maintenance experience
- Wiring and troubleshooting experience with control panels, electric motors, electrical ovens and typical industrial equipment
- Previous manufacturing experience and/or Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement familiarity is preferred
