Position Summary

The 2nd Shift Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintenance of a variety of complex electro-mechanical equipment and systems, including fabrication equipment, automation, robotics, and control systems. The Electro-Mechanical Technician is also key contributor in the implementation of new equipment, processes, and technology.

Position Responsibilities

  • Fabrication Equipment Maintenance: Service and repair fabrication equipment, including lasers, press brakes, coil lines, and CNC punch presses. Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
  • System Integration and Implementation: Implement new equipment and technologies into existing systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Provide input on equipment designs and modifications to enhance performance. Document maintenance activities and procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections. Contribute to the development of maintenance procedures and manuals. Support across maintenance areas as needed.
  • Aids with facility snow removal. PLC and Controls Maintenance: Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC systems and control mechanisms. Conduct diagnostics and repairs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Robotics and Automation Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot robotic systems and automated machinery. Conduct preventive maintenance and calibration to optimize performance. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement automation upgrades and enhancements.

Position Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in maintenance, with a focus on fabrication and automated equipment. Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC, controls, robotics, automation, and complex electro-mechanical systems. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing fabrication equipment, including lasers, press brakes, and CNC punch presses. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and reliability-centered maintenance. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Certification / License: Valid Driver’s License.
  • Skills and Abilities: Willing to work overtime and varied shift assignments as required. Must have industrial electrical knowledge. Ability to follow diagrams, prints, sketches, operating manuals and engineering specifications. Ability to provide technical input on designs and troubleshoot maintenance-related issues. Ability to follow all OSHA safety standards in all work that is performed, (Lock Out Tag Out). Ability to be certified to operate fork trucks, power workers, and aerial lifts. Ability to work off ladders and aerial lifts. Ability to diagnose equipment and systems. Ability to accurately read all types of measuring devices. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Must have a proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
  • Work Environment: Fast paced manufacturing environment. Work occurs primarily on production floor. Non-controlled temperature environment. Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
  • Travel: None OR Minimal (10%-15%).
