Electromechanical Assembler I

About the role

The Cristek group is seeking an Electromechanical Assembler I to join our team at our Billerica, MA facility. This position plays a key role in assembling customer products and requires effective performance in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
• Read and understand customer Drawings, Parts List, Wire List, Processes, Specifications, and assembly Routers for step-by-step instructions.
• Use hand and/or power tools (including specialized crimpers, soldering tools, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, wire strippers and cutters, precision measuring instruments, etc.) to produce wire harness and cable assemblies.
• Conduct in-process inspections on product in accordance with quality specifications.
• Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies.
• Correct and improve documents related to the assembly process with the Engineering team.
• Test and troubleshoot subassemblies at 1st, 2nd and final tests.
• Check-out and check-in tools (crimp tools, test fixtures, mold fixtures and harness boards) used during production.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• J-STD Certification
• IPC-620 Certification
• Electro-Mechanical assembly experience
• 3 to 5 years experience in a wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing environment
• Strong crimping, connectorization, and soldering skills
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking/understanding English
• Pass Visual Acuity, Manual Dexterity, and Technical Literacy requirements
• Sufficient hand and upper body strength and gross motor skills
• Attention to detail
