About the role
The role supports the high-volume STERLING Vikrell tub and shower manufacturing operations across our Production and Distribution facilities. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn the skills of the trade and contribute to our mission of creating a more sustainable and gracious world.
Responsibilities
- Aid in all operations to learn the skills of the trade.
- Assist in getting proper materials to jobs and delivering parts to the shop for repair.
- Clean and condition parts to be repaired.
- Assist Mechanics in moving and assembling production equipment.
- Check out necessary tools and equipment from the storeroom as directed.
- Keep tools clean and in order.
- Become familiar with, and know how to apply all types of lubrication.
- Absorb and issue tool crib supplies.
- Remove scrap material and maintain an orderly area where work is being done.
- Learn to read simplified dimensional drawings.
- Apply protective color coatings to equipment, machinery, floors and similar items.
- Be responsible for the proper storage of all materials and equipment used in the performance of the job.
- Maintain storage areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Participate in the Safety and Good Housekeeping Programs as established within the plant.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the Supervisor.
- Trained on all applicable SOPs, LOPs, policies and procedures.
- Obtain forklift certification and operate forklift.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in the US without restrictions or sponsorship.
- Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Preferred Qualifications: Mechanical proficiency and willingness. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Maintenance. Associates degree in Electro-Mechanical technology or equivalent desired. Competency demonstrated through technical testing. Ability to communicate effectively for manufacturing production processes. Forklift experience preferred.

- Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including bending, lifting, and pushing weights of up to 45-106 pounds or more.
Working Conditions
A heavy industrial environment, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt.

Pay
Starting pay is $30.93 hourly. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
