Electromagnetics Subject Matter Expert and Analyst-Technical Staff
Position Description
We are looking for a candidate with significant experience in applying principles of electromagnetics, in conjunction with other technical fields, to complex air defense problems. The candidate will be responsible for detailed physics-based and mathematical modeling and simulation in support of analysis efforts. In the near-term, the candidate will assess the performance, limitations, maturity, and development risks of advanced and emerging technologies to inform decision-making. In the long term, the candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with government program offices, industry, and other representatives in the defense community, and support their efforts in an advisory role. The candidate will also be responsible for communicating results to a broad range of audiences via presentations at conferences, meetings, and engagements with senior leaders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Physics with a focus on Electromagnetics, or equivalent technical field
- Familiarity with modeling and analysis of electromagnetic scattering, radiation and propagation phenomena
- Must have familiarity with, if not formal expertise in, aerodynamics and materials science
- Technical depth in a chosen field of study, with the ability to apply talents to new fields
- Demonstrated ability to program in a technical environment in MATLAB, Python, C, or C++
- Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to a wide spectrum of audiences
- Passion for critical thinking and solving complex, often ill-defined problems
- Exceptional teamwork and dedication to mentorship
- Interest in working on defense-related problems
- Ability to travel 20-40%
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in the above technical areas
- Familiarity with radar, electro-optic, or GPS systems
- Experience with modeling and simulation
- Demonstrated ability to lead a technical analysis team
Recent Graduate Hiring Range
$145,200 - $170,000
Experienced Hiring Range
$145,200 - $220,000

Background Investigation and Clearance
Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and will obtain and maintain a Secret clearance to start but must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret level DoD security clearance with compartmented program eligibility in the future.
