Electromagnetic Spectrum Management Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide direct operational and administrative support to the MDA SMO (CED) under the Specialty Engineering Director
• Manage and maintain the Frequency Authorization tracker for all MDA missions, ensuring absolute data accuracy and consistency
• Develop, author, and submit System Certifications (DD1494) using STEPSTONE and EL-CID programs
• Develop, coordinate, and submit frequency authorization requests using Spectrum XXI (SXXI) for developmental, fielded, and new systems
• Develop, update, and maintain critical reports and databases to support operational and engineering activities
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues between developmental and deployed systems
• Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and technical solutions to support knowledge sharing and team efficiency
• Develop, update, compile, and submit Host Nation Coordination (HNC) packets and Site Surveys for globally deploying systems
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM
• 7+ years of experience
• Active Secret clearance
• Successfully pass background and drug screening
• Preferred: Graduate of a military spectrum management school, 4+ years of experience within federal/DoW spectrum management, Ability to obtain / Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance, Experience with Spectrum XXI (SXXI), Knowledge of the NTIA Manual (Redbook), Experience with the GEMSIS suite (Stepstone, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online [HNSWD-O], Joint Spectrum Data Repository [JSDR], Integrated Spectrum Desktop), Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation modeling, wave behavior, and signal attenuation, Experience with Mat-lab or other programming languages, Knowledge of the Joint Spectrum Interference Resolution Online (JSIR-O) portal, Experience with NTIA EL-CID, Knowledge of standard engineering practices, Experience with automation tools or programming/scripting languages to aid in data analysis, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) theory and electromagnetic principles, Excellent problem-solving skills and strict attention to detail, Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment, Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Teams
