Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate the activities of team members engaged in the production or processing of materials, such as Technical Operators and Sr. Technical Operators
- Enforce safety and other applicable rules and regulations
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activates within or between departments
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production and quality goals
- Manage hiring, retention, evaluation, and development of hourly employees
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
- Monitor quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Create and maintain a positive and highly effective working environment based on mutual respect and a shared goal of being the number one supplier to our customers
- Establish and maintain a solid working relationship with both internal departments as well as external resources
- Conduct production planning and ensure key performance indicators are met
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new team members, or assign team members to experienced operators for training
- Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
- Confer with management, peers and others to resolve team member’s problems, complaints, or grievances
- Interpret and apply company policies and procedures, specifications, blueprints and job orders for team members
- Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required
- Vocational Certificate or associate's degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
- Experience: 3 to 6+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing assembly equipment, including PLC equipment
- 1 to 3+ years of leadership experience
- Working experience with PPAP requirements
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost analysis, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
