ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Cutting Objective: Identify, measure, align and cut released Alloy for Electrode fabrication.
- Identify released metal by M L number, using the MLC database.
- Calculate the length of Alloy to efficiently utilize inventory, taking into consideration stub length and furnace capabilities.
- Align Alloy bar in Bandsaw to ensure a smooth, straight cut.
- Maintain Bandsaw as it is cutting to ensure blade stays on track, and cut remains straight.
- Stub recycling: Cut off melted Alloy from end of Stub.
- Ensure stub is cut straight.
- ID M L, length and alloy type on the stub per identification template.
- Welding Objective: To adequately weld Alloy bar to Stub, creating a Titanium Electrode.
- Ensure welder is in proper operating condition.
- Verify that there is enough weld wire, that the weld wire is the correct type, and that the feeder is working correctly.
- Remove any alpha case inclusions, and debris from welding surface on bar and stub.
- This may include the use of wire brushes, grinders, air hammers and acetone.
- Ensure that Alloy is released by M L number, using the MLC database.
- Fill out a manual Weld map, and enter into MLC database to create barcoded electrode tag.
- Use TIG welder to attach Alloy bar to stub.
- Clean all weld lines using a wire brush.
- Mark all weld lines with Alloy M L number for identification.
- Verify total electrode weight and attach Bar code tag.
- Record Keeping and Inventory Objective: To maintain records of welds, Bandsaw cuts, electrode maps and metal inventory.
- Maintains records of all welds.
- Maintains records of usable metal.
- Assures that all metal is identified by metal lot number.
- Validates metal inventory as requested.
- Positively identifies fabricated electrodes.
- Maintain records of bandsaw cuts per blade.
- Updated MLC database for inventory accuracy and electrode tracking.
- Safety Objective: To maintain a safe working environment with an emphasis on safety consciousness in all aspects of the job.
- Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
- Safely operates all equipment and tools.
- Identifies and reports safety problems.
- Performs monthly STOP audits.
- Mets all production and quality standards.
- OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES: Performs other tasks as directed.
