Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate e-coating system, including part loading/unloading, tank monitoring, and curing oven operation.
- Inspect incoming parts for cleanliness, damage, or defects before coating.
- Maintain e-coat line parameters (e.g., voltage, current, bath temperature, pH, solids).
- Perform routine chemical testing and make adjustments to maintain bath chemistry within specification.
- Ensure proper pre-treatment (cleaning, rinsing, zirconium application) of parts before coating.
- Perform quality checks on coated parts for coverage, thickness, adhesion, and curing.
- Record production and quality data in accordance with company procedures.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and report equipment issues to maintenance.
- Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Monitor and maintain hybrid wastewater treatment package plant to remain within our county and state issued permit regulations.
Education/Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year experience in an industrial painting or coatings environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of electrocoating or similar finishing processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical and chemical processes used in e-coating.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of basic chemistry.
Attendance Expectations
- The position requires regular and predictable attendance.
- Scheduled shifts will include evening hours.
Physical Demands
- Requires vision (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth).
- Sense of touch.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses.
- Constantly manually manipulates, lifts/carries 10 pounds or less, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less.
- Frequently stands, walks, reaches outward, bends, lifts/carries up to 75 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally sits, reaches above shoulder, squats or kneels, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish between color variations to perform titrations.
Environment Demands
- Exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, and moving equipment.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
- Comfortable working with chemicals and in a production environment.
