About the role

The Mechatronics Technician is responsible for the completion of on-site support, maintenance, refurbishment, and installation of electromechanical equipment at customer locations. Technicians are responsible for inspecting existing equipment, providing feedback to customers regarding the condition of their system, and recommending a maintenance plan. They also refurbish, repair, and test existing electromechanical machinery and install new equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all tasks and situations with a Safety First mindset
  • Participate in a broad array of electrical and mechanical tasks with minimal supervision
  • Aid in the installation of new or refurbishment of existing system components
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections and generate reports based on findings and manufacturer requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma with 1-2 years experience in relevant electrical and/or mechanical role
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks
  • Strong electrical skills (3-Phase, 480V, DC and 24V controls)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with control technology (PLC /controls/inverters)
  • Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuring
  • Comfort working with a variety of computer systems (Microsoft Office Suite, proprietary system monitoring programs, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as alone

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in industrial technology or related field with 2-4 years experience in relevant electrical and/mechanical role
  • Experience maintaining material handling systems in a light industry or distribution center environment
  • Strong background in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting

Schedule

Must be able to work all shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Travel up to 90%

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing
  • Working at heights of up to 80-100 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE
  • Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Working in ambient, fresh (34°F), and frozen (-15°F) conditions
