About the role
This is an entry-level position that, under the guidance of the Shop Manager and shop personnel, would provide hands-on support to Electric Motor Mechanics, Winders, and Machinists on equipment repairs. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to build a career in electro-mechanical services.
Responsibilities
- Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment, noting parts identification, configuration, and condition
- Clean equipment assemblies using various methods, including parts washers and steamers
- Lift, tighten, adjust, and secure heavy objects to perform work duties
- Dismantle and strip damaged or unserviceable electro-mechanical equipment
- Assist in rewinding various types of electro-mechanical equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to company policies and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma required; Technical Certification or Associate Degree in a related field preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical theory and AC/DC motors preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products is a must
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment
