About the role

The Maintenance Techs II play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing all mechanical and some electrical equipment across various facilities. They are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production and packaging machinery, as well as providing general facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for facilities and equipment as scheduled and assigned.
  • Assist with maintenance on select plant production and packaging machinery and associated equipment.
  • Responsible for providing facility maintenance services.
  • Absorb and diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Accurately complete all maintenance documentation, work orders, and paperwork.
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities, and choose courses of action and solutions.
  • Apply technical skills or procedures effectively in areas of expertise.
  • Follow safety, environmental, and quality guidelines.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures, ensure safety of others, follow environmental protocols, and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety procedures.
  • Maintain a sanitary and safe work area, perform housekeeping duties, and detect potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Communicate and develop good working relationships with team members.
  • Achieve job duties with a sense of urgency, exhibit Bel's core values, and possess good work habits and plant safety.
  • Work any shift and provide own tools.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of work experience in mechanical maintenance.
  • Technical diploma or higher in electrical, mechanical, fabrication, or other maintenance-related field with 2 years work experience in a mechanical maintenance position preferred.
  • Experience with rebuilding equipment, gearing, general repair, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Experience with fabrication, including sheet metal fabrication, welding, filing, and machining.
  • Experience with plumbing and pipe fitting, including pipe fitting, water, gas, and air, along with sanitary lines and valving.
  • Experience with refrigeration systems, ammonia, and freezers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to read and work from drawings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental practices, including emergency procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, and a maintenance work management system, preferably SAP TEMPO.
  • Reliable, resourceful, conscientious, and effective in written and verbal communications.
  • Good work habits and practice plant safety.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 4-6 hours, sit for 1-4 hours, drive forklift for 1-3 hours, and perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling for 5% of the time.

Lifting Requirement
