Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-shift meeting, receive PM’s and work orders, and prepare tools for the day.
  • Utilize digital tools and tablets to input data into SAP and other online tools including Digital Manufacturing Operations (DMO).
  • Maintain operations by answering calls on equipment, identifying defects, executing preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Review maintenance plans and optimize to drive reliability of equipment.
  • Coach operator skills with adjustment/changeover improvements in existing processes.
  • Create & maintain various forms of paperwork such as notifications, work orders, breakdown work orders, checking tasks, and entering time in SAP.
  • Participate in problem solving for line improvements, deviations, safety, and quality failures.
  • Maintain housekeeping in work area through sweeping, cleaning tools and shop equipment, and keeping work area clean.
  • Review required spare parts to ensure accurate bill of materials.
  • Build technical procedures.
  • Use, validate, and redline engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical).
  • Communicate to next shift by handing off breakdown work to on-coming shifts, ensuring they know what has been completed and what is left to be completed.
  • Enter time in SAP and put tools away.
  • Document all partially completed and completed work correctly in SAP and according to SOPs.

Experience

  • More than one-year experience on this job or related jobs in the plant or elsewhere.
  • Prior three years of Journeyman experience maintaining, repairing, and trouble-shooting complex manufacturing equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic drive systems, mechanical drive systems, packaging equipment, basic electrical knowledge, welding and fabrication, basic machining skills, basic computer skills as well as reading blueprints (P&ID) and operating CMM (SAP/EL).
