Electro-Mechanical Tech (1st Shift, Mon.-Fri.)

About the role

Mueller Water Products is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for our newest Kimball, TN facility. This role supports manufacturing by maintaining and servicing equipment, including automated, servo-mechanical, electromechanical, and robotic systems. You will prioritize safe, skilled, and timely support to manufacturing operations while working with manuals, automated tools, and precision equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety rules, including Lock Out Tag Out and Arc Flash procedures, and wear required PPE.
• Service, repair, calibrate, regulate, fine-tune, or test machines and equipment operating on electrical/mechanical principles to maintain plant equipment in conjunction with production.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors or defects and preserve equipment functionality.
• Follow manufacturer’s instructions for preventive maintenance, including servicing, repairing, calibrating, and testing manufacturing equipment.
• Install, modify, connect, test, and troubleshoot electrical equipment to power circuits, components, or systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, manuals, specifications, and machining parameters.
• Inspect, identify, and repair machinery and equipment to working conditions, including production setup and verification of settings.
• Adhere to specifications through measurements, troubleshooting, replacing worn tools, and following quality assurance procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment, tooling, and setups to identify underlying principles and support manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot repairs and perform preventive maintenance using hydraulic and mechanical technology to support lean environment, safe operations, and 5S standards.
• Think creatively to service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, and moving parts.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting actions, irregularities, and continuing needs for major and minor repairs with minimal supervision.
• Maintain operational documentation, including production and quality logs.
• Keep work area and department clean and organized.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety guidelines, flagging equipment or safety issues, and following the “Stop, Call, Wait” procedure.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong personal commitment to safety standards in industrial and/or manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of measuring concepts/applications and familiarity with tools like micrometers and calipers.
• Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing safety-focused environment.
• Ability to read, follow, and understand work orders, processes, and technical manuals.
• Operate precision measuring tools, hand/power tools, and electrical/electronic test devices for setup and repair work.
• Effective communication and collaboration with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT), hand trucks, dollies, scales, or other material handling equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar field, preferably in manufacturing.
• Associate’s or Technical degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• CNC, Machining, and/or Paint Department knowledge/experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use a web-based CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Valid Driver’s License.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal-guarded shoes, and ear plugs in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use hands for precision tasks and operate tools/equipment.
