Electro-Mechanical Systems - Service Engineering - CS SVS Tech Spec III
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. They will make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. They will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. They will lead the development of innovative principles and ideas, act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical products, costs, and schedules, and develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
Responsibilities
- Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
- Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.
- Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas.
- Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical products, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
- Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program.
Requirements
- A fundamental understanding of aircraft design and construction principles.
- The ability to effectively work with and support a multi-discipline team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, Quality Control, upper management, etc.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of installations related to Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Systems.
- Practical hands-on aircraft repair experience and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
- Previous Gulfstream engineering experience, especially with Gulfstream G500/G600/G650/G700/G800.
- Experience with Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Systems Schematics.
- Experience using computer aided design tools such as CCD, CATIA V5, AutoCAD, or similar software used in design of aircraft electrical systems.
- Familiarity with Airworthiness Authority regulations and showing compliance to such regulations with repairs and rework instructions in a post-production repair station environment.
- Basic knowledge of Part 25 Certification for EWIS and methods of Component Qualification.
- Knowledge in G500/G600/G650/G700/G800 Fly-by-wire Flight Controls.
Education and Experience Requirements
An advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum is preferred. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
