About the role

The Electro-mechanical Quality Test Technician I position is available on the 2nd shift at Siemens in Wendell, NC. This role is part of the Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit, which provides energy distribution systems and solutions across various markets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final test and inspection duties on Low and Medium Voltage Electrical Distribution Equipment, such as Switchgears, Switchboards, and Breakers.
  • Conduct thorough final inspections on all electrical equipment, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
  • Use various test equipment, including Hi-pot testing, to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, layouts, and wire lists for circuit troubleshooting.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection and quality reports, collaborating with Engineering and Wires teams during tests and reporting findings.
  • Adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, promoting continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
  • Ability to conduct thorough final inspections on all electrical equipment, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
  • Experience with various test equipment, including Hi-pot testing.
  • Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical equipment. Ability to conduct thorough final inspections on all electrical equipment, ensuring precision and attention to detail. Experience with various test equipment, including Hi-pot testing. Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Residential or commercial electrical education or certifications.

Pay

$24.79 per hour, plus a $1.50 shift differential.

Schedule

Shift Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
