Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Mullins Cheese and Mullins Whey. Our business is a 4th generation family-owned company with over 50 years of dairy production experience, shipping products globally.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines continue to run smoothly.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work using our maintenance management system.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Fill out proper documentation in accordance to customer specification and government agencies.
• Aid other employees to maintain a safe process and quality product.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Comply with all processes and procedures of SQF 2000 to assure a safe, quality product.

Qualifications

• Education: Certification from Vocational School; associated degree in industrial/mechanical technology; education not required if have sufficient experience.
• Experience: 2-5 years in manufacturing position (with education); 4-10 years of maintenance related position (without education).

Physical Requirements

• Twisting, bending, and squatting with 50lbs object in hand.
• Long periods of standing and walking.
• Lifting 60 lbs. from the ground.
• Good finger/hand/multi-limb dexterity.

Schedule

3pm - 12 hour schedule. 5 on, 4 off, 4 on, 5 off, 4 on, 5 off, 5 on, 4 off.

Pay

Wage open based upon experience. Minimum starting at $29.00 per hour/$3 shift premium included. $3.00 Shift Premium 6pm-6am. Monday-Friday. All Day Saturday 1.5x on Sundays. Full-time, 40 – 50 hours per week, 1.5x pay over 40 hours. 1.5x pay on Sundays and holidays.
