Electro-Mechanic II_Maintenance
About the role
The Electro-mechanic II takes a lead role when working with Electrical systems and Maintenance teams. This position is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical installations, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment. The Electro-mechanic II must have understanding of Programmable Logic Controlled (PLC) systems, ladder logic and have the ability to troubleshoot, repair these systems. In addition, this position will support the overall facility maintenance including but not limited to: basic plumbing, snow removal, event preparation, basic construction, painting, etc.
Responsibilities
- E 30% Electrical Maintenance: Perform testing, diagnostic, maintenance and revision (programming) work on machine tools and systems including: NC and CNC controls, PLC hardware and software, control circuits, electro/mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- E 30% Corrective and breakdown maintenance of all equipment: Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor's instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices.
- E 15% Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment, following preventive maintenance schedule to ensure all machinery is in good, safe working order
- E 10% Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds (including snow removal, basic plumbing, HVAC and basic carpentry, etc.)
- E 10% Installing, troubleshooting and upgrading of all equipment; Ability to install conduit, electrical wiring, air/water/hydraulic piping or any additional systems required for proper machine installation with minimal direction from engineering or supervision. Read blue prints, schematic drawings and diagrams in order to properly and safely install machinery
- S 5% Mentor and lead Maintenance team members as needed and within area of expertise
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Electro-mechanics (or similar area of study) or Apprenticeship in Electromechanical Maintenance or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent years of experience (5 years industrial electromechanical experience in a similar working environment)
- 5+ years' experience and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine shop tools and equipment
- Able to read, make and modify: electrical line diagrams, schematics and blue prints
- Experience installing and modifying Variable Frequency Drives (VFD); installing, trouble shooting and programming PLC (Allen Bradley, etc.) and sequential programming devices
- Experience with running conduit, relays, terminations, controls wiring, and motor control experience
- Advanced knowledge of AC and DC motor drive controls
- Knowledge and experience working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Strong problem solving ability
- Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
- Ability to work in a stressful environment (loud, dirty, confined spaces, etc.)
- Strong computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel
- Experience in major upgrades/revisions both mechanically and with control systems
- Valid PA driver's license with ability to drive 24,900lb box truck or flat bed with manual or automatic transmission
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with Programmable Logic Controlled (PLC) systems, ladder logic
- Understanding of PLC systems, ladder logic and ability to troubleshoot, repair these systems
- Basic fabrication and repair of all necessary equipment
- Preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment
